It is more than twenty years since Carole and I visited Berlin together, driving up from the southern border via Hof and staying on the East side of the Wall. SEE: First Visit.
My visits since have been on my own but after leaving souvenirs and booklets lying around, I noticed that some had been examined and even read !!
So, we were looking for an idea to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I suggested Berlin.
Very surprisingly, there was no resistance and I found myself turning to EasyJet for help with flights, again.

They were so easy to book and we planned to go on the Tuesday midday flight, the 22nd of February and returning on the last flight of Friday, the 25th of February.
Now I had to find a nice hotel in the center of Berlin. I have stayed at the Agon just off the Alex'platz and enjoyed their hospitality, but felt for this event I would find a hotel on the Unter den Linden.
A few minutes on the computer linked me to the
Westin Grand Hotel on the corners
of Unter den Linden, Friedrich Strasse and Behren Strasse.
and we were pleased to be able to book a large room for the nights we were there.
The choice of restaurants on site helped our decision as well. We had been looking at the weather conditions in Berlin and felt that the projected temperatures at night would probably decide on us "eating in". Click on picture of hotel for full details.
The final thing to do was to book a parking spot for secure storage of the car and we found one which not only offered 24 hour enclosed parking but also free delivery of us and our cases to and from the airport terminal. So we booked this by computer as well.
