- OUR SUMMARY -

We are long-standing members of the British Titanic Society and we have had our conventions in Southampton for a number of years because the Titanic sailed into history from this port.

Last year a convention was tried in Liverpool and now this year the BTS party has gone to Halifax on a three-day flying visit to see the Titanic-related graves.

Our little independant group of stalwarts have however decided to come back to Southampton to support your 95th Anniversary Commemoration of the loss of RMS Titanic after seeing how much work and effort you have put into the organisation of the event.

We have all travelled many miles to be here for the weekend and are glad to have made the effort.

We have been able to meet up with many enthusiasts who live locally and others who have come from abroad and who have talked our throats sore.

The Southampton Park Hotel was ideally sited, since it was just a walk across the park to the Civic Centre. They made us very welcome, were excellent hosts and provided some substantial breakfasts which set us up for the day.

Radio Taxis 02380666666 was on the dot every time we ordered one and we covered most of the exhibitions and events, thanks to their quick arrival at both ends. We ate well at the Cowherds and the Dolphin.

We thank Southampton for their interesting and memorable programme, the factual talks, the Sunday morning service and for making us all feel so welcome.

Here's to next year !!
