THE
TABLES
WERE SET UP
AND WE WERE
READY FOR "PUBLIC DAY"

SATURDAY--SALES AND EXHIBITION DAY

THE SALES TABLES DO MUCH BUSINESS

PHILIP LITTLEJOHN SIGNS HIS BOOK

"Young" Mr Cuthbertsons
Matchstick Model

It took eighteen months to build this detailed model

Millvina spent some considerable time signing autographs.

THE LECTURES (SATURDAY)

Every age group
was represented
12 NOON:---As usual,
we had a superb hour
with the "Sunshine Boys",
Charles Haas and John Eaton,
who related the continuing saga of the artefact "ownership"
and we sat enthralled as they worked hard
to tell us EVERYTHING !
They gave out a multipaged booklet
which is a souvenir in itself
and I am still ploughing
through it.

3 PM:---Following the "Boys" we had
the "Cheeky Girls",
Inger Sheil and Jemma Hyder
who related to us the backgrounds
to the Junior officers of the Titanic.
It was quite a new topic which should have had
a give-away pack as well
because a lot of research apparently
had been done by the girls.

At 4 PM the Sales Tables and Exhibition
closed down and everyone took a deep breath.

We had time to chat to Sid Sedunary

Most of the delegates retired to their room
to prepare for the evening to come.

COFFEE and MINTS

Feeling very well after a lovely meal
we retired to the outer room for our coffees and liquers
and waited until we could go into the Library
for the Commemoration, Speeches and Raffle.
COMMEMORATION AND SPEECHES

The Geoffs and Steve welcomed the Guest of Honour,
Miss Millvina Dean
who went to her seat to a standing ovation.
We then stood in silence to remember the people
who lost their lives 91 years ago

The Officers of the B.T.S. gave their speeches.
THE RAFFLE

Well, what can one say ??
Halfway through the raffle, the hotel fire alarm went off
and we fled to the assembly point in the extensive car park.
Many selfless acts were seen to be performed
as gentlemen proffered parts of their clothing

to keep the ladies warm.

I will never forget the sight of a very dignified Millvina Dean
sitting on a chair wrapped in a space blanket !

Then a shout went up.....
"Is there anyone out there.............
with blue ticket number 34 ??"
We all laughed, then our names were called out and we responded.
We then traipsed back into the library where the raffle,
second half, was played out.

Michael Barrett summarised the weekend
and then we returned to the Bar

We sat and chatted into the early hours.
