DAY THREE

Breakfast in the hotel
The Special Evening

I announced that I had purchased tickets for a show for our last evening in Berlin. The show was "Cabaret" in German at the Bar jeder Vernunft on the Feldspiele just off the Kurfurstendam ! We took a taxi but the driver got totally lost and I despaired about getting to the show on time to have our meal. We found the venue but we were too late for the first availabilty of the meal so we entered the mirrored auditorium and were pleased to find we were upgraded into some excellent seats.
We were promised we could eat in the "pauser" (at half time) so we ordered drinks. To me the show was supreme since I had read Chris Isherwoods book and have the Lisa Minelli DVD. What we saw was the original stage version without the Marisa Berenson character. Frankly I thoroughly enjoyed it and the substantial meal that came during the interval.
I was suprised that Carole and Simon had not enjoyed it as much as I had but it was an experience which helped my german and I hope Simons german as well.

There was a taxi waiting when we left the show and this driver knew his way and we were back to the hotel very quickly. It was a nice night out in our better clothes with my bow tie and waistcoat and Simon in a nice shirt and Carole in a long dress.

We went to bed quite late that evening !!!
